Join Our Cause: Kim Deserves Her Childhood Back
Kim's Life Timeline
Explore the pivotal moments in Kim’s life, from her birth in Switzerland to the complex legal battles her family faces.

2021 | First Sequestration of Kim in Ukraine, Followed by an Attempted Homicide.
Born in Lausanne, Switzerland, Kim was taken to Ukraine by his mother and grandmother just one month after his birth. What was supposed to be a trip of one month at most quickly turned into blackmail, and then the kidnapping of the child.
In November 2021, the tragedy escalated: the mother attempted suicide, trying to take Kim with her in death. Following her hospitalization, the grandmother took the child hostage. In December 2021, Kim’s father filed a complaint in Switzerland.

2022 | Struggle Against Institutional and Racial Discrimination.
On January 5, 2022, Kim’s father got his daughter back after reaching a financial settlement with the family to ensure her return to Switzerland.
That February, he filed a petition with the Lausanne District Court seeking a protective order for the marriage and full custody of the child. In response, the mother sought revenge, sparking the start of a long legal odyssey.

2024 - 2025 | August: Abduction in Poland. In December: Attempted second abduction, thwarted in Zurich.
August 2023
In August 2023, Kim was abducted and taken toward Ukraine. However, police intervention made it possible to intercept the mother and child in Poland. Following this event, the father requested custody in order to protect his daughter, but the court rejected his petition based on a recommendation from a social worker of the General Directorate for Children and Youth (DGEJ).
December 2023
In December of the same year, a second abduction attempt took place, but it was thwarted in time and aborted in Zurich. Another custody petition was filed, yet once again, relying on the social worker’s opinion, the court rejected the father’s request.
Crucially, these two abduction events were nowhere mentioned in the court’s rulings.
Despite the seriousness of the situation, during hearings the DGEJ social worker continued to lie to the court and to attempt to discredit the father in order to justify placing the child. Finding no concrete evidence against him, she nonetheless included in her reports (File No. 5452136) unfounded claims, even writing: « Mr. Hori is quickly projective and believes that complaints against him are, for example, due to his skin color. »

2024 - 2025 | The threat is carried out: Kim has been kidnapped and is now in Ukraine.
Part 1: Abduction and the Custody Battle in Switzerland
In January 2024, Kim was kidnapped and located in the city of Dnipro. The father immediately filed a petition for sole custody in order to organize the child’s return to Switzerland. Between January and February 2024, his request was once again denied.
During the hearing, the DGEJ social worker actively worked to undermine the father’s parental legitimacy, going so far as to contest his custody request even after his daughter had been abducted, which demonstrated a persistent bias.
The turning point occurred between February and March 2024, following the unsealing of the mother’s medical records. The disclosure of her medical file finally allowed the court to see the real danger the mother posed to the child. Despite this, the social worker tried to persuade the judge of the District Court of Lausanne that there was no urgency in granting custody to the father, claiming that the child could remain in Ukraine in the middle of a war zone.
Fortunately, faced with the evidence in the medical file, the judge decided otherwise. In March 2024, he finally granted sole custody to the father. These events highlight the systemic obstacles he was forced to confront.
Part 2: Proceedings in Ukraine and Obstruction by Local Authorities
In parallel, a request was filed in February 2024 through the Swiss Federal Office of Justice, activating the Hague Convention. However, this process has still not yielded results in Ukraine. From February until the death of Kim’s mother in November 2024, the authorities in the Dnipro region continuously gave the father the runaround, sending him from one court to another.
After the mother’s death, local authorities ignored the father’s rights and granted custody of the child to the maternal grandmother. The proceedings continue to this day, in 2025, without any decision on their part.
Facing this inaction, the father reached out to the Ukrainian president to ask for his support. The president’s office refused to get involved, replying that the judiciary is independent in Ukraine. As a reminder, Kim holds only Swiss citizenship, not Ukrainian a fact the local authorities are aware of but which changes nothing about the situation. The fight continues in the hope that the Ukrainian justice system will finally agree to rule on the matter and return the child to her father.
Part 3: Inaction in Switzerland and Obtaining an International Alert
In Switzerland, since the January 2024 abduction, the cantonal authorities, particularly the Public Prosecutor’s Office, have not attempted to identify the accomplices in the kidnapping, and the police have refused to investigate due to the connections to Ukraine. They also refused to report the child to Fedpol and Interpol, and the Public Prosecutor’s Office issued orders to dismiss the case against unknown persons (« classement sans suite contre X »).
Thanks to his own efforts, by petitioning the Justice of the Peace of Lausanne himself, the father finally succeeded in September 2025 in having his daughter officially reported to Fedpol and Interpol. Thanks to this international alert, he can now file a criminal complaint against the grandmother and continue his efforts to recover his daughter before it is too late.
